Corebridge's CATS - Common Access for Telephony Services - is a server based-software which enables communications with most PBXs used in the marketplace.
CATS gateway enables communications between disparate telephony systems (desk phones, DECT, softphones, smart phones) and customer information systems.
Communication between CATS gateway and Telephony environment is maintained through telephony standard protocols such as TAPI, TSAPI, Mitai, sip, TR/87 etc. :
- CATS-TAPI : applied with PBX delivering Microsoft TAPI telephony interface such as Cisco, Alcatel, Siemens, Panasonic, Nortel, NEC, Astra Matra; ...etc
- CATS-TSAPI : applied with PBX using TSAPI telephony interface such as Avaya and Alcatel.
- CATS-Mitel : applied with Mitel PBX.
- CATS-IPC : applied with IPC turrets.
- CATS-SIP : applied with Microsoft Lync, Skype and Cisco Jabber unified communication solutions
Instructions transmitted between CATS server and PBXs are simple, do not saturate the network and can help enterprises to realize centralized, optimized IT architecture. CATS is a non-intrusive telephony solution which does not impact on back-end IT/telecoms infrastructures and individuals' day-to-day business processes.
Corebridge "CATSWrapper telephony layer" enables 3rd Party applications to access to CATS telephony resources. Through CATSWrapper layer, applications can communicate with different PBXs and are notified in real time of all telephony events of monitored devices.
